Ingredients
- Butter - 100 gm
- Dark chocolate - 150 gm ( chopped )
- Instant coffee powder - 1tsp
- Flour - 3/4 cup
- Salt - a pinch
- Eggs - 3 nos
- Vanilla Extract - 1tsp
- Sugar - 1 cup
- Cocoa powder - 2 tbsp
- Preheat the oven to 190 degree C . Line a baking tin with aluminium foil or butter paper and keep ready.
- Take dark chocolate and butter in a bowl, place over another bowl of simmering water and melt it to a smooth texture.
- Add coffee powder, cocoa powder, sugar, vanilla and mix thoroughly.
- To this add eggs one at a time, mixing in between.
- Mix together flour and salt, gently fold this into chocolate mixture.
- Pour into prepared tin, tap to remove air bubbles. Bake for 30 to 35 minutes.
- Once done a screwier inserted into the center comes out with wet gooey crumbs.
- Cool in tin for 10 minutes and then transfer to wire rack and cool completely.
- While melting chocolate, the bowl should not touch the boiling water. Chocolate can burn easily, so once 80% of the chocolate is melt remove the bowl from heat and mix nicely till the remaining chunks melt.
- No need to powder sugar, and no need to wait till the sugar dissolve before baking.
- Do not panic if the butter separates on adding sugar, batter will be fine in the end.
- Brownie continues to cook while out of the oven so no need to bake till you get the inserted screwier clean.
- Can add nuts if desired.
- Fill the tin only to half or preferably a little less than that. But be careful not to reduce than that.
