Mint Tea

This recipe tops my list of summer refreshments. We have to drink lots of water during summer to balance the water loss due to profuse sweating. But its not just water we lose ,so drinking plain water alone cant replenish the loss.

Its here tender coconut water and fruit juices comes to our rescue.
What if one day unfortunately the fruit stock in your pantry is over and u have forgot to refill it and...and... u badly want something to recharge you [ooo..... i think that's a lot of possibilities ;)]. Then try this tea. Dont know how many times i have made this.....its really addictive.

Now a word about my pics....this time i don't think i have done justice to my pics coz i took them in a hurry. I did a mistake of taking the tea out of freezer early [ dont what made me forget about the hot weather ]...by the time i arranged the probes and got my camera ready the tea had almost melted. The sorbet texture was all gone and i had to hurry with what was left.

Ingredients
  • Tea dust  -  1/4 tsp
  • Water  -  1 cup
  • Lemon juice  -  1 tsp
  • Sugar  -  to taste
  • Mint leaves  -  5 to 7
Method
  • Put the mint leaves in a  shallow bowl.
  • Make tea, remove from flame ,add sugar and lime juice.
  • Strain the tea to the bowl, containing mint leaves. Let it cool to room temperature.
  • For instant use put some ice cubes in a tall glass, pour the tea over it......enjoy
  • Or place the bowl in freezer for a few hour. It will harden to a sorbet consistency, scoop this into glasses and serve.
Notes
  • Adjust the quantity of ingredients to suit your taste.
  • Never boil lemon juice or mint leaves along with water.
  • Freezed tea tastes better than adding ice cubes.

Now a days its really burning outside, sun burns and heat strokes which we barely heard in those days has become too common

Pineapple Sago Payasam

Its the month of Onam...The celebration of 10 days starts today.. The word Onam itself brings a nostalgic feeling to everyone. I had my best onam days at my Father's tharavadu. All those memories are related to my Father's brother. He was the one to lead all the preperations from flower carpet to feast. And I was his helper all those days as I was the first and eldest child in the family
