Sugar cookies

This is the first time am baking a cookie. I got this recipe from the blog 'cooking is easy'. Its a simple cookie with nice buttery flavour.

The day I planned to bake these turned out  super busy with some unexpected guests. I made the dough but din get time to shape them perfectly. Eventhough they didnt look good, they tasted good...trust me.
I made a slight variation to the recipe, I reduced maida to half and added atta instead ( health consious me ;) ). So my cookie texture was a bit rough.

Ingredients

Butter - 1/2 cup /100 gm
Sugar - 1/2 cup
Flour - 1 1/2 cup
Baking powder - 1/2 tsp
Egg - 1/2 lightly beaten
Vanilla essence - 1 tsp

Method

  • Dunk in all the ingredients into the food processor and pulse it for 2 minutes
  • Put the coarse dough onto a plain surface and knead till soft
  • Shape it and place on greased baking paper and bake in a preheat for 10 -12 minutes
  • Cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes and then transfer to cooling rack
Notes
  • I used one whole egg
  • Instead of food processor you can use your fingers to incorporate cold butter and flour to a bread crump consistency. Then add the rest of the ingredients and knead to a dough

At that time the temperature was not this high, the heat was tolerable and the summer breeze were soothing. It was the most awaited time of the year. Now a days its really burning outside, sun burns and heat strokes which we barely heard in those days has become too common

Pineapple Sago Payasam

Its the month of Onam...The celebration of 10 days starts today.. The word Onam itself brings a nostalgic feeling to everyone. I had my best onam days at my Father's tharavadu. All those memories are related to my Father's brother. He was the one to lead all the preperations from flower carpet to feast. And I was his helper all those days as I was the first and eldest child in the family
